LoP slams Govt for not bringing legislation in 4 yrs to regularise school fees

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta criticised the Kejriwal Government for its failure to come out with any legislation on regularising the school fees during its four years tenure.

Gupta reminded that the AAP had promised in its manifesto to regulate fee of private school.  “It had promised that it will regulate private school fees by publishing fee structures and accounts online but the promise has not been fulfilled during the last four years.  Working on ad-hoc rules and orders, the Government has failed to rein in private school management,” he said.

Gupta said that the financial exploitation of parents continues due to Kejriwal’s Government connivance with private schools.  “It remained silent spectator of exploitation by school management,” he said.

Accusing the Government for failing to put end to commercialisation of school education, he said that it is a matter of shame the Government is patting its back that the Court has restrained the schools to increase fees till Monday but the fact remains that the Government has done nothing during the last four years and it is solely responsible for the present states of affairs.

Gupta further said that the connivance between Kejriwal Government and private school management is a matter of fact.  “The Government allowed schools to increase fees upto 15% on 17th October, 2017,” he said, adding that it led to spurt in school fees.
