loP slams AAP for opposing Modi's move to flush out black money

leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Thursday said it is unfortunate that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which came in to power on the wave of anti-corruption movement in Delhi is "vehemently opposing" Prime Minister's bold decision to abolish Rs1,000 and Rs500 currency notes in a move to flush out black money.

"The AAP unfortunately called PM's decision "Tuglaqi", said Gupta, adding that the AAP's "knee - jerk" reaction to the PM's "historic move is reflective of its corrupt practices behind the façade of honesty and transparency."

"The party is being charged of amassing huge black money by selling tickets in Punjab. It is also being reported that money is being demanded from ticket seekers of three Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's demand the roll back the decision underlines that AAP is rolling in black money. The truth is that it has removed details of donation from the Party's website. It has indulged in many corrupt practices," Gupta alleged.

"Its founder member Prashant Bhushan contributed seed donation of Rs2 crores. But it was found to be Rs30 lakh only in records. No explanation was ever given for this grave discrepancy," he said.
