leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta has urged lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to conduct a CBI probe into Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim of disappearance of more than half of potable water in the distribution channel itself causing grievous loss of revenue to the Government.

During the financial year 2016-17, the revenue loss was Rs 1,161.45 crores. The Government is taking lightly criminal loss of not only revenue but also precious water.

“How with revenue loss of 50 per cent, Delhi Government is claiming that DJB is in profit of Rs 178 crores over the last year after giving a subsidy of Rs 400 croresIJ” Gupta asked.

He added that by the admission of Kejriwal himself that out of the city’s daily supply of 900 million gallons per day of treated water only 450 to 500 (Million Gallon per Day) MGD reaches the consumers.

Gupta demanded that CM of Delhi should apologies to the Delhi’s citizens especially from the residents of 1,105 unauthorised colonies for fake claim and cruel joke of supplying potable water.

He also alleged that the Delhi Governmnet has totally failed in providing potable water to nearly 60 per cent population of Delhi.

“The actual daily available quantity of potable water is less than the quantity which was available at the time of formation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) becau-se no additional quantity of potable water has been added,” he added.

“Though an estimated 10 lakh population has been added, since then,” he said further.
