Amid water crisis in Capital, leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said he will raise water scarcity issue on Monday in a special session. The BJP leader said Delhi Government is failed to provide adequate water supply to every household in Delhi.
"People are dismayed by shortage of water in scorching heat. However, instead of solving the problem, it is running away from its responsibility by causing conflicts with Haryana or claims to go to the court but backtracks at the last moment in the fear of getting itself exposed," Gupta said.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also president of Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
Gupta has demanded that the CM puts forth the development work done by him regarding DJB in the past three years of his Government.
"Why all the work of the DJB has been stalled and why is he escaping taking responsibility for the stalled projects and who is responsible for Rs 800-crore loss in DJB in the past two years. Since, Kejriwal is the president of the DJB, he is answerable for the corruption that has occurred in his tenure," Gupta asked."I will raise the issue of deepening water crises in Delhi as well as increasing corruption in DJB in the assembly and will expose the government," he said.
