loP: Doorstep delivery archaic in digital age

Published on:

leader of Opposition in Delhi assembly, Vijender Gupta on Wednesday said that the Delhi Government’s proposal of doorstep delivery of 40 services is archaic in present digital age.

Reacting on door to door step delivery, BJP leader said, “Presently the universal effort is to eliminate human element in delivery of Government services, whereas the proposal of the Government entails visit of Government representatives to citizens. This defeats the purpose of online services.”

He further said that at a time when majority of Delhi Government services are available through online system, it is illogical and immature to introduce the concept of services at door step.

“It will cause financial burden on citizens as well as the Government. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia projected that delivery of services will cost less than Rs 50 while the Income Tax Return Preparer (ITRP) gets up to  three percent government incentive and a fee of Rs 250 from each client,” lOP said.

Gupta in a statement said that he is agreed with lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal that the proposal has implications for safety and security of vulnerable people, corruption, bad behavior and breech of privacy.
