He raised the issue of shortage of medicines, surgical consumables and equipment in the hospitals run by the Delhi Government during the Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly on Wednesday.

Gupta said that the Government itself has admitted in its circular dated -August 2 of this year — that the Chief Minister had seen the recent status report dated September 15 on the availability of medicines, surgical consumables and equipment in the different hospitals in Delhi. “It further reads that CM had remarked that the performance is much below the mark,” he said.

He further said that the Government promised to come up with 1000 mohalla clinics by the end of 2016 but it is only operating 110 clinics. “A number of clinics have been built but have not been made operational. However, they are guarded by security personnel. It has been alleged that doctors are fabricating the number of patients. In place of announced 212 lab tests, not more than 12 tests are being conducted.,” Gupta said.
