After much speculation over her election campaign rally in Delhi, Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti finally addressed a poll meeting in the riot  sensitive Trilokpuri Assembly constituency on Monday. This was her first rally after her Ramzade/haramzade speech created a controversy, which led to nationwide outrage and a week long stalemate in the Parliament. Stung by the controversy, she was seen in a new avatar on Monday with her speech seemingly more guarded than before wherein she promoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development model.

After her controversial speech none of her scheduled poll meetings could be organised. But by scheduling her poll meeting in riot affected Trilokpuri, the saffron party has given all the indication that it is not scared of projecting polarising figures even insensitive areas.

launching a scathing attack on Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, Sadhvi said that both parties, one of them recently “ran away” from their responsibilities, didn’t do anything for the poor people while they were in power. This was the second time that Sadhvi, who today held two nukkad jan sabhas at Trilokpuri and New Ashok Nagar, has addressed a public gathering. Without taking AAP chief Kejriwal’s name, Sadhvi said, “Before forming Government, they sought suggestion of the masses on the Government formation… but why they didn’t adopt same way when they were to resign from the Government. I want to ask you if such person should be re-elected.” The Minister also said that in the last one year, Delhiites have been facing the burden of another elections because they “ran away” from their responsibilities.

Taking a dig at Congress, Sadhvi who recently stocked a controversy by making a communal statement, said those who could not give the details of 60 years, are now seeking details of the last six months of our Government.

Attacking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi at Trilokpuri’s nukkad sabha, the Minister said, “Spending a night at a jhuggi cannot help you comprehend poverty. It does not erase poverty.” She also appealed to the people to take the forthcoming Assembly elections as a challenge and identify, which can serve you better.
