Local BJP leaders in touch with Opp: Sources

Published on:

At a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was engrossed in winning each and every seat in the national Capital, certain leaders of the Delhi BJP were furtively helping the Opposition parties. Neutral observers, employed  by the BJP high command to keep a tab on the activities of the local leaders, have reported how some leaders were in cahoots with the rival Congress and were also creating impediments for the BJP candidates.

Having taken cognisance of the adverse reports, submitted by the observers, the BJP central leadership is mulling disciplinary action against the delinquent leaders after the results are declared on Thursday (May 23).

If sources in Delhi BJP are to be believed, party high command will reshuffle leaders and may sack even few who were seen in the house of Former Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit.

Sources told The Pioneer, that the party high command  has hired a private agency to observe the activities, participation and campaigning of the local leaders. “We have received feedback from the party high command that few leaders holding rank of general secretaries, district presidents and few members in media team were missing in action during the campaigning".

The party is in the process of ascertaining their roles and may initiate actions against the leaders who were involved in anti-party activities. Since BJP is eyeing a comeback in Delhi Assembly elections due in February 2020, these leaders will hear the music, sources maintained.

Alongwith the suspicious activities during campaigning, there was internal bickering among Delhi BJP office bearers.

"What was the contribution of secretaries and district presidents during campaigning?" BJP leader questioned without naming anyone.

Lauding the role of union leaders and poor response in the Union Minister Rajnath Singh's rally, BJP leader said that workers, leaders play equal role in campaigning, however, Delhi BJP leaders were not seen actively despite the participation of Union Ministers in road show / rallies and campaigning.

The role of  BJP's Municipal Councillors has been also taken up by the party leadcdership. "What action has been taken so far for illegal encroachments, who gave clearance to maps for illegal constructions? Who is responsible for the deaths of innocents in building collapse?" BJP leader questioned.

Meanwhile, reacting on AAP's claim on EVM hacking, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said, "AAP is defeating and finding reason to blame EVM.

Citing Delhi Assembly elections -2014, Tiwari said that AAP had no problem with EVM when they won 67 seats out of 70,""AAP is facing defeat and Kejriwal has started EVM blame game again," said Tiwari.
