A leopard was found dead in Ghaziabad’s loni area on Thursday, an official said, adding the animal seemed to have died of natural causes. The big cat was first spotted by Kishan Pal Singh, a local farmer of Pachehra village of loni, when he went to his agriculture field. Forest Department was alerted, which rushed to the spot with all the paraphernalia to ensnare the cat.
But they found the feline motionless and on inching closer, found the cat dead. “We have transported the carcass to our nursery in Sanjay Nagar area. A fungus was found in its front right leg. He was 13-14 years old,” said Divisional Forest Officer Joga Singh.
