The GYAN foundation organised a memorial lecture on ‘Atal Niti - Rashtra Niti’, to mark their tribute to former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his first death anniversary on Friday.  The event was chaired by Shyam Jaju, National Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (MoS) and Dr Sumeet Bhasin, Founder  of GYAN Foundation.

As a part of this mission, "Atulya Atal", an event in the commemorating the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also announced and the collaterals of the same were also released by the dignitaries on the dais today.

Speaking at the event and quoting Vajpayee Jaju said that no one took the BJP's Manifesto seriously in its early years. "Everyone told that they would never come to power. Atal ji once said, "Today you will make fun of us, a day will come when nation makes fun of you." True to his words, today, every karyakarta is proud because he knows what we say is what we do," said Jaju.

He said Atalji realised that the youth and student political participation is genuine and pure. "Atalji used to come around Jammu & Kashmir for elections, with little preparation, and full knowledge of few seats winning. Still, he came to Kashmir, just to encourage the young karyakartas," said Jaju.

Dr Jitendra Singh speaking about Vajpayee's personal warmth said that when Vajpayee ji went to Belapur in 1957 to open a Janata party office. "To save money, the local karyakartas offered Atalji a ride on a bicycle to see him off. However, when Vajpayee ji went to the same village once again in 1977, he asked to get the same cycle. This is what has built this gigantic cadre," said Singh.

"If Atal ji was alive, today he would have said that go tell the world that Modi has abrogated Article 370," said Singh
