Days after the clash between Delhi Police and Lawyers over parking issue in Delhi's Tis hazari Court complex on November 2, the retired police officers who are now practicing as lawyers in national Capital's various district courts are now facing criticism from lawyers. The posters stating, 'Please clarify. You are an Advocate or Retired Police Officer', were pasted on the chambers of former police officers turned lawyers.

The recent victim is Delhi's former Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), LN Rao, whose chamber number 136 in Patiala House Court complex saw several posters, asking him whether he is an advocate or retired police official, pasted on the chamber entrance gate.

Talking with The Pioneer Rao said that I have clarified what I am! "I am a retired police officer and now a lawyer. I was shocked to see posters on my chamber and the reason behind is that I had condemned the attack on police personnel in the Saket court premises," said Rao.  "My chamber picture is circulating on social media and I feel threat on my life," Rao added.

Former DCP of Special cell Rao who had received four medals for his meritorious service and two out of turn promotions is not alone, there were other retired police officer too.

Rao is not alone, there were other retired police officer too whose chamber saw similar posters but when contacted they refused to comment on the issue.

On Saturday at the Tis Hazari Courts Complex after a parking dispute between an on-duty policeman and a lawyer erupted, at least 20 security personnel and several advocates were injured. The protests triggered more on Monday when a police constable was attacked by a group of lawyers outside Saket District Court.

Ordering a judicial inquiry by one of its retired judges into the clash, the Delhi High court at a special sitting on November 3 suspended a police official and transferred two senior police officials during pendency of the investigations.

The Delhi High Court on Sunday directed the Delhi Police commissioner to transfer Special Commissioner Sanjay Singh and Additional DCP Harendra Singh during pendency of the investigation. It had also asked not to take coercive action against the lawyers for the FIRs filed in the Tis Hazari court clash.
