The Delhi Police has arrested a 28-year-old employee of a leading bridal wear showroom in South-East district’s lajpat Nagar for allegedly molesting a United Kingdom national in the trial room of the showroom while she was trying dresses.

In this case, after suspect’s arrest, the chargesheet was filed within three days. Police said that the accused has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Shah (25), a resident of Sarita Vihar. “The arrest was made last Friday, however, the incident occurred on October 17 in 2012, when the victim had come to India to attend a wedding of her friend. She came for shopping and went inside the trial room of the showroom when the accused allegedly molested her,” a senior police officer said.

The complainant had to return to UK on the day of the incident and did not report the matter to the police but she asked the manager of the showroom to inform the police about this matter and also requested him to expel the accused.

"On March 17 this year, she came back to India and again went to lajpat Nagar market for shopping along with her friends. She went to the same showroom to check whether the culprit was still working. She found the man still had his job and she then informed the police with a complaint stating that she could not report the matter earlier due to time constraint, and sought strict," the officer added.
