lack of knowledge of legislative procedure and business rules of Delhi Assembly has created quite an embarrassing situation for the Arvind Kejriwal Government as the newly-elected Speaker MS Dhir failed to satisfy the members. Senior Congress MlA Prahlad Singh Sawhney alleged that AAP candidate who has lost the election in the just concluded Assembly polls from Chandni Chowk took inspection of the area alongwith officials of Delhi Jal Board. Sawhney alleged that he was the local MlA and he was not even informed and this is against the protocol. Congress leaders Jai Kishan and Asif Mohammed Khan also demanded that this House should pass an order on this issue.
Echoed with his party leaders protest, Congress leader Arvinder Singh lovely stated that Speaker has power to issue order in such matter and there are business rules and legislative procedures which governs this House. Noisy scene created after speaker Dhir ruled that he will talk to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on this issue. This has agitated Congress and BJP leaders in the House who protested that they are going against the prescribed business rules and procedures of the House and there is no need to take advice on the issue and speaker can issue order.
Raising the issue, BJP leader Prof Jagdish Mukhi said that such situation will lead to anarchy and speaker should be interfered in the issue. Finally, speaker assured the House that this House will protect the rights of each MlAs.
