lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung has forwarded the Delhi Government’s complaint pertaining to the Delhi Jal Board tanker scam reportedly involving former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday.

Delhi Jal Board Minister Kapil Mishra had earlier written to Prime Minister and the l-G on this issue.  “My Report exposing corruption by Shiela Dikshit has been forwarded to ACB,” Kapil Mishra tweeted. “Pro shiela lobby is active in BJP now. News is all efforts are to kill the case, divert the attention. I hv submitted a 125 page report,” Mishra tweeted.

During three-day Assembly session that concluded on Monday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded registration of a case against his predecessor Sheila Dikshit and jailing her for what he said was the Water Tanker scam unearthed in the national Capital.

“Now that we have submitted a report on the scam to Prime Minister Narandra Modi and lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung, the former should ensure that Sheila Dikshit is sent to jail within two months,” Kejriwal had stated while addressing the Delhi Assembly.

Kejriwal also took a jibe at leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta and said that if the Prime Minister failed to send her to jail, Gupta will resign. In case he does not resign, we will sit on a hunger strike, the Chief Minister said.

The Aam Aadmi Party Government in June 2015 constituted a fact-finding committee to probe the irregularities in hiring some 385 stainless steel water tankers by the Delhi Jal Board in 2012, during Sheila Dikshit’s rule.

On June 19, 2015, a five-member committee was constituted by the DJB to probe the hiring of 385 stainless steel tankers in 2012. The committee had been formed after the DJB received complaints about irregularities in the process of awarding tenders.

Then Dikshit was the chairperson of the DJB when these tankers were procured. In August last year, Mishra had written to Kejriwal to file an FIR against Dikshit.
