In a move to keep its area clean, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation has uploaded the list of the incharges of all community toilet complexes and dhalaos online so that people can lodge complaint against poor maintenance of public utilities.
"The SDMC initiated the drive under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan in which the name and the phone number of all incharges of CTCs and dhalaos will be available. The list of the inspection officers will be put up outside the public toilets," said an official of SDMC. The list of details is available on SDMC's website and on the ground. "In case the toilets are found filthy or not in a condition of use, people can call up the in-charge on phone and help in taking action against the concerned person," said an official.
With the corporation not removing the garbage, the stinking dhalaos lead to problems like malaria and cholera. Public toilets in even areas like CR Park are in a shambles with any water facility. With this initiative, SDMC hoped that clean public toilets will be a reality soon. In case dhalaos are found stinking, the public can lodge a complaint to the officials. "If the inspector refuses to take calls, people can resort to third eye mode and inform the MCD officials of the laxity," said SDMC Public Relations Officer, Mukesh Yadav.
