The decrypted phone details of the 19-year-old who allegedly murdered his father, mother and younger sister "spoke volumes" about the sinister planning the accused made, as he was taking clue from internet sites and blogs to work out most suitable modus-operandi so as to easily get away after committing the crime.
The accused was produced before the court and had been sent to 15 days jucicial custody.
The phone internet details reveal that he was finding 'ways and means' to mislead the investigation for the last few days before he actually committed the murder. He purportedly deleted his internet browsing history in order to save his neck. Suraj allegedly killed his father Mithilesh (44), mother Siya (38) and 16-year-old sister in the early hours of Wednesday in Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj and then ransacked the house to make it look like robbery.
According to a senior police official, the accused Suraj had been comprehensively watching 'Crime Patrol' for last six months and the accused had also viewed various YouTube videos and internet blogs to get an idea on how to get away with the crime.
"The accused during interrogation said he was watching Crime Patrol for last six months from which he got various ideas to whip off from the crime. He had also deleted his internet browsing history and little 'WhatsApp' conversation from his phone in order to leave no trail of his planned murder. However, while his mobile was screened thoroughly all details were extracted out decrypted and hence disclosed. It came fore that the accused was member of a WhatsApp group where he often indulged in discussing visiting night clubs, hanging out and discotheques with friends," said the senior police official. The neighbours said that the accused was of wayward nature and always harboured a dream to live a lavish life but was not able to do so due to family pressure.
"He had dreams of going on night out but due to family pressure he was not able to move out during night hours. He always wanted to lead a lavishing life. However he often defied his parent's orders and always indulged in activities against their wishes.
He cared a hoot for his parents often came home inebriated even during day time and created ruckus and hurled abuses after that," said Rohit, a neighbour.
Police said during the course of investigation the accused had disclosed the names of his friends with whom he use to take drugs and alcohol at an accommodation in Mehrauli collectively rented by them. "His habits drove him to become a ruthless killer as he planned and executed his hideous designs by wiping out his parents who ones doted over him and his younger sister who tied Rakhi to him. He has traits of a ruthless killer who concealed his real motive and struck when they were fast asleep", said an investigator.
