Khurana stable post brain surgery: Doc

The condition of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan lal Khurana, who underwent a surgery following brain hemorrhage, is stable.

“The patient’s vital parameters are normal. He is responding well to treatment and has opened his eyes. Bleeding has been cleared in his brain and he is presently on minimal ventilator support. It may be taken off in a couple of days. He is still in ICU though,” said Dr Rajesh Acharya, senior consultant surgeon (neurology) at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, on Sunday.

Doctors said Khurana is showing spontaneous activity in all four limbs. Raised pressure on the brain has been released. “We may also conduct a CT scan in a few days,” said a doctor.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit visited Khurana on Saturday evening to wish him a speedy recovery. Doctors said Dikshit stayed with the 77-year-old leader for nearly half an hour and also lauded doctors’ efforts.

Khurana was admitted to hospital last Thursday after he suffered a hemorrhage in the right side of his brain. BJP veteran lK Advani and leader VK Malhotra had also visited the ailing leader.
