Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday stoked controversy after tweeting a poster depicting lord Hanuman as a ‘Rakshas’. Delhi BJP condemned Kejriwal for hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus by portraying their revered Hanumanji in bad taste.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said, “We feel that this bad portrayal has been intentionally done to please the leftist section which is responsible for anti-national propaganda at Jawahar lal Nehru University (JNU). It is well known that the leftist section has all along felt a sadistic pleasure in humiliating Hindu gods to sleeve up their secular credentials.” Upadhyay has demanded that Kejriwal must immediately apologise to the nation especially to Hindus for creating this unnecessary controversy by hurting the religious sentiments.
The poster shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the centre of the stage surrounded by all the issues like the Dalit student Rohith Verma’s suicide, Pathankot terror attack and other burning issues where the latest is the JNU row. “Done Sir, all attention is on JNU now”, says a blurb which shows a ‘right winger’ portrayed as ‘lord Hanuman’ and obeying PM Modi’s order. Many reacted with anger on Twitter.
