BJP leader Vijay Jolly made a representation before Chief Electoral officer of Delhi Vijay Dev on Tuesday regarding the violation of Model Code of Conduct, Representation of the People Act, 1951 and Election law by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal.
He accused the AAP of giving false promises to Delhi voters that the Delhi Assembly would pass Jan lokpal Bill on December 29 at the Ramlila Ground, which was legally not possible.
Jolly, in its letter, said that under the existing Indian law, lokpal Bill Act, which is being talked about by Kejriwal or his companions, in no manner can be enacted by Delhi legislative Assembly. Approval for this Bill falls in the exclusive jurisdiction of Indian Parliament. “The AAP is bluffing, cheating, defrauding and making false promises to Delhi voters knowing fully well that the Delhi Assembly cannot do so,” said the BJP leader.
