The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday extended support to the suspended Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Durga Shakti Nagpal saying that she should join their party and contest polls against Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav from Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri constituency.
Addressing a Press conference in the Capital, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said, "The manner in which Durga Shakti Nagpal has been suspended, indicates that there's a bigger political conspiracy behind it. Ironically she's demanding justice from those who opposed her. We urge her to contest elections against Mulayam Singh Yadav and defeat him."
AAP slammed the UP Government, for wrongfully suspending Durga, saying that within one year of Akhilesh's rule, over 30 cases of communal riots have erupted. "I can understand Durga's state of mind right now. AAP will provide her full support. We request her to be courageous and contest elections. Even if she stands independently, we will support her," added Kejriwal.
