'Kejriwal, Vishwas sending AAP workers to create ruckus in DCW'

After failing to summon AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in the alleged illicit affairs row, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the lieutenant-Governor and Commissioner of Police alleging that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Kumar Vishwas are strategically sending AAP workers to create ruckus in the commission and thereby hindering their proceedings in the matter.

The letter said that Vishwas has defied two consecutive DCW’s summonses. The woman AAP volunteer has levelled serious allegations against Vishwas and accused him of not rebutting “rumours” of illicit relationship, it added.

In the letter written by DCW chief Barkha Singh to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, she wrote, “While Mahila Ayog is sorting out the matter the unscrupulous elements clandestinely sent to DCW are creating deliberate hurdles and chaos in the way of conduction of free and fair proceedings. This has resulted in total chaos in the Commission in the free and steady discharge of its duties.”

The letter also stated that DCW member Juhi Khan and Mahila Adhikar Manch Sneha Rani Verma insulted Barkha Singh and used derogatory language against her during the Press conference held by DCW on Monday.

Meanwhile, Kumar Vishwas did not appear before DCW, which had issued summons to him in connection with the controversy, for second time.

“We have called the husband of the victimised woman at the Commission and he had come. Our attempt is to unite them as the woman has alleged that her husband left her following rumours of her illicit affairs with the leader. Kumar Vishwas hasn’t bothered to appear before it on Wednesday,” DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh said.
