A controversy erupted after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal  and Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia were  denied entry inside Rajbhawan in their official cars but were made to walk.

lt Governor Anil Baijal had hosted annual ‘At Home’ at his official residence on Thursday where Kejriwal and Sisodia were invited.

AAP alleged that all this happened while the cars of other visitors and some officials were reportedly allowed in.

The incident generated a fresh controversy and AAP leaders took to twitter slamming the incident.

“Delhi l-G insults CM. The l-G had organised a programme at Raj Niwas for Republic Day celebrations. Though vehicles of several others were allowed inside l-G house, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were forced to alight outside and kept waiting for few minutes by l-G security,” tweeted Nagendar Sharma the Spokesperson of Delhi Government.

“Please make CCTV footage of l-G house entrance public. let people of this country know whose cars were let in, and who all were asked to walk,” tweeted Saurabh Bhardwaj, Spokesperson AAP.

Saurabh Bhardwaj while talking to The Pioneer said  both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were asked to show their invitation card which is just a humiliation. “Vehicles of junior officers of the Delhi Government were allowed in while the Chief Minister and his Deputy were stopped,” said Bhardwaj.

The Delhi Police also tweeted from its official handle saying that as per established protocol, convention, and because of space constrain , no vehicle of the Delhi Government were permitted inside.

In an another tweet following it Delhi police refuted the allegations.

“Today also, during home function at Raj Niwas, no vehicle of any officer of Government of India or GNCTD was permitted. There was no delay on part of security in letting the Hon’ble Chief Minister and any misinformation to this effect is baseless” tweeted Delhi Police.
