Kejriwal represents a motley crowd of anti-nationals: Swamy
Published on:

launching a frontal attack on national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday said the social activist-turned-politician only represents a motley crowd of anti-nationals.

He also raised doubt over his fight and stand against corruption. Former Minister said AAP had failed to answer the allegations of financial donations from the very sources he condemns. Referring to various news reports, Swamy said for the sake of transparency in public life, these allegations require to be fully answered by him.

He was addressing a Press conference at Delhi BJP headquarters in the Capital on Tuesday. “As an anti-corruption activist and on behalf of the Delhi Pradesh BJP, I am addressing this Press conference to enthusiastically support the cleanest and most experienced candidate for the CM of Delhi, Harsh Vardhan,” he said.

“He (Kejriwal) represents a motley crowd of anti-nationals, sleazeballs, and financial manipulators. This crowd is attracted by AAP’s as-yet camouflaged ideology. It therefore, attracts anti-nationals such as those who want to hand over Kashmir to Pakistan, espouse the cause of Maoists and Naxalites, and pander to rabid Muslim fundamentalists,” he added.

The BJP leader further alleged that they (AAP leaders) talk about corruption, but do not take any case to its logical conclusion. “Kejriwal’s claim to fight corruption is limited to addressing Press conferences. This is called the shoot-and-scoot strategy. In the Robert Vadra case, all the material he presented were already in the publicly domain. But in his Press conference, re-disclosing the same, he specifically said that he found no wrongdoing by Gandhi family. Did they go to court (in the Robert Vadra case)IJ” Swamy asked.

He also accused the AAP of working hand-in-glove with the Congress. “lacking necessary credentials to counter with a corruption free name, the Congress seems to have entered into an unholy agreement with Kejriwal to do its work of countering Harsh Vardhan’s impeccable credentials during the electioneering,” Swamy also said. He also criticised the party for its inexperienced move and claimed that AAP will not be able to win a single Assembly seat in Delhi.

“It is apparent that the AAP has no presence of experienced workers at the booth level. Hence, the party will find it difficult to open its account in the Assembly elections. The Congress party which has emerged as a de facto patron of the AAP is habituated to ditching allies when convenient politically, and that is what we will witness four days before the polling date,” he said, urging people to vote for BJP for a clean administration in Delhi.
