Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday assured the family members of 23-year-old Ankit Saxena, allegedly killed by the family of a woman with whom he was in relationship, of all possible help from the Delhi Government.
Attending the condolence meeting in memory of Ankit, the Chief Minister said his Government is committed to fulfiling its responsibility of providing every help to the family of Ankit.
“Don't hesitate coming to me whenever you (Ankit’s family) are in the need. I will personally be in contact with you,” Kejriwal said at the condolence meeting.
Ankit, a professional photographer, was stabbed to death in West Delhi’s Khyala area earlier this month, allegedly by the family members of a woman with whom he was in a relationship for three years. Ankit (23), a photographer by profession, was murdered by the outraged family members of his 20-year-old “girlfriend”, who had opposed the proximity between the couple. Just hours after the murder, four people, including the mother, father and uncle of the woman were arrested. Her brother, a minor, was also apprehended for the crime, police had said.
The woman’s family had opposed her relationship with Ankit as the two belonged to different communities.
The woman’s father, mother and uncle have been arrested in connection with the killing while her minor brother has been apprehended.
