'Kejriwal Govt is ignoring mandate of MCD polls'

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari has said that by ignoring the public mandate of the recently-concluded Municipal elections, the Arvind Kejriwal Government is trying to browbeat the re-elected BJP administration in the Municipal bodies.

"On one hand, three months have gone by and the Delhi Government is still sitting upon the file of notifications of new zones after the delimitation of wards was sought by the civic administration whereas on the other hand Kejriwal Government is trying to get nominated its party workers as Alderman in the civic bodies," Tiwari said.

He also said that while doing this the Kejriwal Government has, like its predecessor the Congress Government, violated the Delhi Municipal Act which clearly states that persons of civic and administrative eminence be appointed as Alderman.

"It is sad that Kejriwal Government in total disregard of the public mandate is trying to thrust into its party workers through backdoor nominations as Alderman to influence the working of the Municipal Corporations," Tiwari added.

"BJP condemns the AAP Government for holding up

notification of new zones because of which municipal working is stuck for last three months now. The new elected Councilors are getting no Budget as the constitution of Ward Committees and the vital Standing Committee are stuck," he said further.
