Kejriwal Govt finishes paperwork on Khalistani terrorist's transfer

The Arvind Kejriwal Government has agreed to transfer Khalistani terrorist Devender Pal Singh Bhullar from Tihar Jail to Punjab. Top sources said that the AAP Government has reportedly completed all formalities for jail transfer of Bhullar to Punjab.

The family members of Bhullar had applied for his jail transfer from Tihar Jail (Delhi) to Central Jail in Amritsar. It is noted that Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had earlier met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a few weeks ago and reportedly urged to transfer Bhullar from Tihar Jail to Amritsar.

Bhullar is a political issue in Punjab politics as Badal Government has been under pressure from hardliners to bring him to Punjab so that it can appease the hardliners in the upcoming Assembly polls in the State.

Bhullar is jailed in Delhi (Tihar Jail) for last two decades. He was sentenced to death in a fractured decision by a TADA court. He remained on death row for around 13 years and his sentence was commuted to imprisonment for life in March 2014.

Sources said that the AAP Government in Delhi has cleared all the formalities for jail transfer of Bhullar. According to sources, a no-objection certificate (NoC) is already granted by Arvind Kejriwal-led Government and Bhullar will be shifted to Amritsar jail after Punjab Government completes formalities on its part.
