Breaking away from his action-packed roadshow on Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by party’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta, finally filed his nomination papers from Jamnagar House on Wednesday. The former Chief Minister arrived at the office of the returning officer around 11.25 am, passing the road amid thunderous Modi cheers by the BJP supporters.

Sources said AAP and BJP supporters engaged in brief face-off at the office of returning officer with both sides chanting pro-Modi and pro-AAP slogans.Surprisingly, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi’s name didn’t feature at all in pro-BJP sloganeering. While Kejriwal’s direct challengers in the New Delhi Assembly constituency are BJP’s Nupur Sharma and Congress’ Kiran Walia, the AAP chief said that his fight was not against any individual as he was standing up solely to solve the issues of Delhi.

“My biggest challenge is corruption. It is my endeavour to get rid of this as soon as possible. The people of Delhi need to decide who they want as their representative to eradicate corruption or elect those who haven’t managed to get rid of corruption in seven months,” said Kejriwal.Kejriwal was quick to add that this election is not about winning or losing, it is for bringing about a change in the city. Kejriwal left the returning officer’s office after he submitted papers around 12.30 pm. Shortly after, Kiran Walia from the Congress went in to file her nomination papers.
