In a scathing attack, the leader of opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Wednesday alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s governance model has ruined Punjab after Delhi. “Even in six months, the Punjab government has no money to pay salaries to its employees. This reflects the real face of Kejriwal’s governance model. The situation in Punjab is expected to worsen in the coming days as the government treasury has become empty,” Bidhuri said while addressing a press conference. “DTC had incurred a loss of more than Rs 50,000 crores while Delhi Jal Board had a loss of Rs 58,000 crores. Punjab is also going to be in the same trouble as Delhi.
Bhagwant Mann government has brought this state to the brink of poverty,” said Bidhuri. Bidhuri said that like Delhi, a new liquor policy has been announced recently in Punjab and licenses have been issued to many liquor contractors of Delhi there as well. “In Punjab also, the government was expected to get Rs 9,000 crore as excise every year, but like Delhi, the liquor policy seems to be failing there.
The Punjab government now does not have money to even pay salary and condition is that it is demanding from the Center that period of GST compensation should be extended further,” said Bidhuri.
