Promises more sting tapes when the ‘need arises’; says BJP was in touch with 15 AAP MlAs
A day after its exposé on BJP’s Delhi unit vice president Sher Singh Dagar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday threatened to flood the streets of Delhi to highlight the “unethical means” it claimed the BJP was resorting to for Government formation in the national Capital. While AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the lieutenant Governor for batting for the BJP, he also stated that the party is going to write to the President that the BJP should not be given a chance to form the Government in Delhi.
Hitting out at the BJP, Kejriwal announced that the party would soon launch a campaign to “expose” the saffron party before the people. “We will go to the people of Delhi with the video clip and tell them how the BJP is trying to buy our MlAs and expose the way they were trying to form a Government in Delhi by putting all ethics and morality on the backburner,” said Kejriwal. He also said that the BJP was in touch with 15 of its MlAs to poach them to facilitate Government formation in the Capital and that he will come out with more sting tapes, if the need arises.”
In a bid to checkmate BJP, the party said it is in contact with Congress, JD(U) and some “honest” BJP legislators to prevent the saffron party from forming Government in Delhi through “ill-gotten means.”
“I want to make it very clear that AAP is in touch with all the parties and Independent MlAs. By saying this, we make it clear that we are not aiming to form the Government, but we want to stop the BJP from forming the Government through dishonest means. We are in favour of elections,” he said.
The party also accused Najeeb Jung of batting for the BJP and demanded that letter written by lieutenant Governor to the President seeking his permission to invite the BJP for Government formation should be withdrawn immediately.
“It is the lG’s Constitutional responsibility to see that there is no assault on the Constitution. We are also meeting the lG on Wednesday and will hand him over the CD and apprise him of BJP’s plan of horse trading for forming the Government,” he added.
