After former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal admitted that quitting as CM was a mistake, Delhi BJP intensified its attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader. Stating that the residents of Delhi have been suffering because of his ‘adventure.’ State unit chief Dr Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday said that the AAP is an apparition created by foreign powers to destabilise the country.
“As an elder brother whom you yourself have publicly admitted to as admiring, I have only one advice — go home and run that NGO of yours. You could do better service to the nation through advocacy instruments like ‘gheraos’ and ‘satyagrahas’ but please desist from cheating the people with false promises”, Vardhan said. He added that the people of Delhi are suffering for his adventure. “Instead of resolving the problems of water and power, he has left Delhiites this summer to unaccountable bureaucrats. If he wanted to run the Government to mitigate the summer problems of Delhi, then the BJP would not have come in the way,” the BJP leader added.
Raising doubt over conferring Magsasay Award to Kejriwal and several members of Team Anna, Vardhan said, “It is an award instituted by the Philippines Government, but endowed by Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. It is given only to those who facilitate the penetration of international corporate funds. The anti-corruption rhetoric was nothing but a foreign Government effort to destabilise India but making its citizens disillusioned of the democratic system,” he said.
He said Kejriwal was liberally funded by them so that he could build a huge image of himself as a messiah of the masses while they proved their loyalty only to the US Government’s agenda in India. “He is an irresponsible maverick who has no business to ask for people’s votes because he is not interested in governing. Delhi, being India’s Capital, needs a leader with a broad vision and Narendra Modi is the man of the hour,” he said.
