A 17-year-old Kashmiri student fell to death from his school hostel building under mysterious circumstances in Kavi Nagar area here, police said on Friday.
The student, identified as Mohammed Safi, was studying in Class XI in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kamla Nehru Nagar of Ghaziabad. His father, an Army man, lives with his family in leh of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Around 12.30 am last night, he fell from the second floor of the hostel building. He was immediately rushed to the nearby Sarvodaya Hospital. He died around 6 am on Friday,” said a senior police officer.
The police officer said it was yet to be ascertained whether he jumped off or it was an accident or somebody pushed him from the balcony.
“Police are interrogating Safi’s roommate and other inmates. Besides, we are also questioning the hostel and school management,” the officer added. He said the police had sent his body for medical examination, and added Safi’s parents had been informed about the incident.
