Karuna's family, locals hold protest

A massive protest was held by deceased Karuna’s family and locals in North Delhi’s Sant Nagar area and outside the Burari police station causing traffic jams around the area on Wednesday.

Karuna was brutally stabbed 26 times to death by her stalker on Tuesday. They also conducted a candle march in the evening after cremating Karuna at Nigambodh Ghat.

Karuna’s uncle, Vinay alleged that police have not done any investigation in the matter yet.  “Two other men who were involved with Surender in the murder of Karuna are still absconding,” alleged Vinay. He said police should have scanned Vinay’s call detail records, messages and should have also searched for other accused people but has not initiated any action.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, North district, Madhur Verma said they faced problems in controlling the crowd as the protest was violent but everything was under control later.

Police will interrogate Surender to get more leads in the case.
