Jung's attempt to 'install' BJP 'lacks propriety': AAP

Published on:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday alleged that lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s letter to the President of India, seeking permission to invite BJP for Government formation in Delhi “lacked propriety”. Terming the lG’s “attempt to install” a BJP Government “despite clear evidence of attempts by the BJP to bribe MlAs”, “shocking”, AAP said, “Attempts to install a BJP Government by backdoor using all illegal means are continuing”.

The AAP also posed few questions to the lG. “Since the lG is silent about his letter and the Centre seems to have shut its eyes on the ongoing developments in the national Capital which amount to subversion of the Constitution, the AAP has decided to put in public domain some critical questions, which need to be answered by the lG,” said the party.

“Is it a mere coincidence that your views on installing a BJP Government in Delhi despite the party not being in a position to do so, match the BJP’s U-turn, which had submitted a letter to you on December 12 that it does not have the numbers and will sit in OppositionIJ” asked party convener Arvind Kejriwal.

“Why have you decided to save the BJP from the basic requirement of staking a claim for Government formation, given the fact that in the same Vidhan Sabha, this party has already once declined your offer citing lack of numbersIJ” the party posed its second question.
