leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Tuesday said the Address of lt Governor Najeeb Jung clearly describes the tale of Government’s failure and inefficiency to achieve the targets set for 2015-16.
“At the same time, it brings a message full of disappointment and poor governance to nearly two crore citizens of Delhi. The much-touted “Swaraj Budget” of the Government has disappeared in thin air. The announcements with regard to schemes so proudly made in the spheres of education, health, roads and transport, smart city, women city and security, social welfare, sanitation etc. have turned out to be disastrous failures,” said Gupta.
Gupta said the achievements described by l-G are nowhere near the tall promises made by the Government. “Infrastructure development is nowhere to be seen. In the entire speech of the l-G, no concrete project seems to have materialised. Now we understand how and why Deputy CM had started saying that progress does not mean only infrastructure development. Infact, no concrete action can be expected from the present Government. The achievements of the Government enumerated by the l-G are actually the works and schemes launched by the previous Government. The present Government cannot take any credit for this,” he added.
loP pointed out the strong possibility of 14 Bills passed by the Vidhan Sabha and presently awaiting approval of Union Government being sent back unapproved by the Central Government due to their unconstitutionality.
