DU to kickstart its placement drive for Class of 2015

Bringing to over 5,000 undergraduate students an opportunity to land a job, Delhi University will kickstart its first placement drive for the batch of 2015 on Wednesday with three companies coming in to hire around 100 students. Jobs varying from content writing, business development, psychology, nutrition and administration will be offered to students based on their skills. So far 5,000 plus students have registered and officials in the Dean Students’ Welfare office have said that more registrations are expected.

An official in the Dean Students’ Welfare office said, “The registrations are still on for the drive online. There won’t be any on spot registrations though because students will have to get their registration certificates verified by their college principals.” Every year the placement drive is held at the university where nearly 800-900 students get placed. However, last year the placement mark crossed 1,200. “Around 6,700 students were registered with us last year of which 1,200 were placed. There were 30 companies registered with us and several companies went back very happy with the kids,” said the official.

In the first drive, the three companies visiting the campus would be litchi Knowledge Centre — hiring a business development executive, psychologist, senior executive operations, creative writer and nutritionist, Experts Intellectual Solutions Pvt ltd — hiring a creative writer and academic coordinator, and EXl Service — hiring a customer care executive. As per officials, these positions could lead to near 100 recruitments depending on the company’s demands.

last year the biggest recruiters were Wipro, Housing.com, Oravel Travel, Freight Systems, Ingenious e-brain Solutions, Aon Hewitt, Medley Marketing and HT Studymate.
