A 57-year-old canteen in-charge of JNU was arrested for allegedly molesting his maid in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the accused in an inebriated condition molested his maid and thrashed her when she resisted.
Police said that the accused has been identified as Ishwar, lived with his family in the staff quarter of JNU. "The incident took place on Wednesday night when the accused was alone at his home. The victim was sleeping at her room when the accused first called her and molested her," a senior police officer said.
After calling her, he started molesting her and when resisted, he also thrashed her. She screamed and raised an alarm.
"locals made a call to the police control room (PCR) and informed the incident. After receiving the call, local police rushed to the spot and the victim was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre she was discharged after the first aid," the officer added. Based on the victim's statement, a case was registered and the accused was arrested.
In another incident, one 18-year-old Beeny was arrested for allegedly molesting a girl in Mehrauli area. A case was registered against him at Mehrauli police station of South Delhi.
