Criticising the Aam Aadmi Party’s idea of an open Cabinet to pat their own back rather than having a constructive debate on important issues, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken slammed 100 days of Arvind Kejriwal regime by unveiling a book 100 Din Paar, Dilli Mein Jhooti Sarkar, at Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) media briefing on Tuesday.
Through the book, Maken and his team of Ministers, including DPCC spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee, highlighted the sudden and overall change of Kejriwal from his roots of being an aam aadmi to khaas aadmi. Calling Kejriwal as a leader of blame games, Maken reiterated, “The principles on which the AAP was formed were only used to lure the voters and now the party’s functioning seems nowhere near the principles.”
The DPCC president termed Kejriwal as an authoritarian figure. He attacked the Delhi Chief Minister for choosing public arena to display and laud his achievements. Taking a dig at Kejriwal’s so-called fulfilled promises of subsidy on power tariffs and free water, Maken reminded him that by reducing tariffs and later compensating it with Delhi’s infrastructure budget is not a smart idea. This money belongs to people of Delhi and providing it to the private discoms makes no sense. It should be used for the Delhi’s development rather than conning them with a smart move. Maken also suggested Kejriwal to use issue of full statehood of Delhi as a constructive discussion rather a publicity stunt and advised him to start working for the people.
