BSF jawan Ram Niwas Meena, who was admitted to AIIMS trauma centre three days ago, after suffering injuries in cross-border firing in Jammu & Kashmir’s Samba district on August 5, succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours on Sunday. Head Constable Meena died at 12:30 am due to multi-organ failure and excessive bleeding, doctors said.
Dr MC Mishra, director of AIIMS trauma centre said, “Meena was administered about 100 units of blood and blood products.” His body was handed over to his family, who took it to Rajasthan. Meena had been on ventilator. He belongs to the 200th Battalion and was manning the border outpost at Narianpur.
