Jantar Mantar, Janpath closed for Metro construction

To facilitate the construction of the stretch, there will be no traffic movement from Jantar Mantar Road to Janpath crossing on Tolstoy Marg from Thursday. However, in a major relief for the shopkeepers of the Tibetan Market, the Janpath Road, which was closed for the Metro construction has now been opened partially. The road was closed for the general public for carrying out the construction of this station on October 31, 2011.

“Despite the blockage, access was provided to the Tibetan Market, Imperial Hotel, Kidwai Bhawan, Chandralok Building and Janpath lane. Now full access is available to shopkeepers of the Tibetan Market. The road is being partially opened for the general public from today, just 17 months after being closed,” said a spokesperson with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
