Heavy traffic was witnessed around Pragati Maidan on Monday reportedly due to the ongoing India International Trade Fair 2015. Commuters complained of getting stuck in long traffic jams at Bahadurshah Zafar Road, Bhagwan Das Road, Bhairon Marg, Sikandra Road and Mathura Road. The ripple effect of the same spilled over to nearby areas including Barakhamba Road, Mahatma Gandhi Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg.
Earlier in an advisory, Delhi Traffic Police had advised commuters to avoid some specific roads if they are not going to the Trade Fair. “People who are not coming to the trade fair are requested to take alternative routes to avoid getting caught in jams in the area.”
