From roping in the private sector for cleanliness and increasing greenery alongside roads and adjoining areas to introducing separate lanes for ambulances, BJP chief ministerial nominee Kiran Bedi, on Sunday, released an 18-point blueprint for health and cleanliness in the national Capital.
Ironically, the BJP is yet to release its Vision Document, but its newfound face Kiran Bedi has been tweeting about her blueprint for the Capital since the past five days with the hashtag #KiransBlueprint.
For bringing improvements in the health sector, Bedi said she would introduce “telemedicine and mobile health” facilities, which will act as local testing centres and would then communicate the reports with specialised centres.
“The existing health schemes like medical insurance, Delhi Arogya Kosh and Janani Suraksha Yojana will be reinforced. Separate lanes for ambulances shall also be initiated,” she tweeted on Sunday.
Keeping in tandem with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan, which she highly appreciated, Bedi’s plan includes inviting private sector to adopt sections of roads and neighborhood for cleanliness campaigns, engaging RWAs to find local solutions to promote the same and encouraging drives and contests with incentives. She also talked of keeping “shramdaan days” where people would mobilise voluntary action on these issues. Encouraging ecofriendly bins and increasing the use of ecofriendly decentralised waste management system.
“Suitable increase in capacity of hospital beds to meet rising needs based on detailed and thorough epidemiological analysis. Introduce health sector skills training programs and courses in Government institutions,” read her other tweet.
Promising to take a slew of steps to ensure women’s security, BJP’s chief ministerial nominee Kiran Bedi also said “student police” will be set up and those found indulging in eve-teasing will not be spared if BJP comes to power in Delhi.
Addressing a rally in South-West Delhi’s Dwarka in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bedi said she has already discussed the issue with civil defence personnel. “I have already talked to civil defence people. More than 3,000 people are ready take to the streets to provide security to women. The numbers are going to rise,” she said.
Bedi said she also has plans to establish “student police” modelled on similar forces in Kerala. “We will attach you (youths) with police stations so that they can see how police stations work. They will be sent to PCR vans as well,” she said. Issuing a stern warning to those indulging in eve-teasing, Bedi said those found guilty will be punished.
“I am warning that if anybody eve-teases, he will be caught. We have to work along with the police,” she said.
