The pangs of Delhi’s heat wave rose again on Tuesday with the temperature touching 43.3°C. The high humidity levels also added to the discomfort of city dwellers.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has predicted similar weather conditions on Wednesday. After a brief respite from the sweltering heat, due to intermittent rain, hot and humid conditions have returned to haunt Delhiites with the maximum temperature rising four degrees above normal for this time of the year.
The night too was considerably hot as the minimum temperature was recorded at 32°C, which was four notches above normal. According to Met Department, humidity levels were recorded between 59 per cent and 33 per cent during the day. At Palam, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8°C, at Ayanagar it was 44°C while at Ridge it settled at 42.8°C. There was no rain in any part of the national Capital till 5.30 pm on Tuesday.
Intermittent showers from Thursday to Saturday had given Delhiites respite from the extremely hot and dry conditions during the first week of June when the temperature hovered around the 45°C mark. The rain, however, has caused humidity levels to increase.
