In a shocking incident reported from Rohini district, a human skeleton was found inside the septic tank of a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) primary school in Mukhmelpur village of Alipur area, police said Thursday.
According to information, the toilet tank was closed for a long time and when a new toilet was being constructed next to the old one the labourers found the skeleton.
Frightened with the incident, teachers, students and administration staff allegedly didn’t make it to school on Thursday. “A Police Control Room (PCR) call was received late evening on Wednesday regarding parts of a human skeleton, the skull and some bones being found by labourers working in the MCD primary school, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta stated.
“Investigation has been taken up and a medical board has been constituted to determine the gender, age and the cause of death of the deceased,” said the DCP.
According to police, some workers were connecting the newly constructed sewer tank to the old one, when they spotted the skull and some bones and alerted the school staff.
Police are also questioning the school authorities and those involved in maintenance of tank, he said.
Police revealed that they are also checking with the locals regarding any missing person in the area. Police, along with crime and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team, visited the spot and are waiting for the FSL report to ascertain how old the skeleton is and if it was of a man or a woman, a police official said.
