The forthcoming hospital would immensely benefit lakhs of residents, particularly women in areas like Daryaganj, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and other Old Delhi areas.
The entire Walled City does not have a full-fledged hospital and patients have to visit either lok Nayak Hospital or GB Pant Hospital near Delhi Gate or Hindu Rao Hospital in North Delhi.
Officials said opening of the multi-speciality hospital will reduce patient load in these hospitals, which are otherwise frequented by thousands of people daily.
