Homebuyers up in arms against builders in Noida Extension
Published on:

Around 1.5 lakh homebuyers are deeply upset after developers in Greater Noida West (popularly known as Noida extension) have started issuing offers of possession to them without completion certificates to avoid paying delay penalty. Around 50,000 residents have already started living in these projects but they are facing problems related to basic amenities and infrastructure promised by builders and administration.

Abhishek Kumar, President of Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA) told The Pioneer, “Numerous protests have been held against lack of basic amenities and delay in the possession of flats.

Homebuyers have also made several complaints to the Greater Noida authority but officials are not taking any action,” Abhishek Kumar told The Pioneer.

“Roads are not constructed. People are dependent on power backup and ground water supply and facing other problems. We met with CEO Noida last week to talk about improving the situation and the chairman has promised to intervene,” he added.

Suyash Pandey, a homebuyer of Steller Jeevan said the builder has given offer of possession to 700 to 800 flats without approval of completion. “The plan was proposed to us in 2010 and I booked a flat in Steller Jeevan in 2011. The builder had to provide possession in 2012 but it was delivered on illegal basis three years later without project completion. Construction is very poor and basic facilities are not in the society. We are not only concerned about the poor quality construction but also worried about accidents that may occur with falling of windows and doors on ground from 9th or 10thfloor.”
