The Delhi Police went in a tizzy after they got a call on Saturday evening about a bomb inside the Delhi Police Headquarters.
However, the call turned out to a hoax. The incident was reported on the same day when Indian Prime Minister Narender Modi was addressing the Chartered Accountants at the Indira Gandhi Stadium a day after the GST bill was officially launched. The Headquarters is located nearby.
According to the police, the PCR on Saturday received a call from an unidentified mobile number at around 8.40 pm about a bomb planted inside the Delhi Police's headquarters at ITO.
Police said that initially they believed that the call was made from an Aircel number, but later on it was found to have been ported out to Vodafone. Vodafone, however, informed that the number has been inactive since December 18 last year, said a senior police officer.
