After the pleasant wet spell, the national Capital on Sunday witnessed a hot and sultry weather with the day temperature almost touching 35°C with humidity levels soaring as high as 90 per cent. There might not be much respite for city dwellers on Monday as the MeT Office has predicted similar weather conditions with the possibility of light rains.
According to the MeT Department, as the city received no rains in the last 36 hours till 5.30 pm on Sunday, mercury settled a notch above normal at 34.7°C, which was significantly higher than Saturday’s 32.2°C. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7°C, which was normal for this part of the year. However, this too was almost two points above normal from the previous day’s minimum temperature of 23.6°C.
As rains subside in Delhi after a wet patch during the last couple of days, humidity levels remained on the higher side oscillating between 57 per cent and 90 per cent, said a MeT official. “There will be generally cloudy sky on Monday. Very light rain or thundershowers may occur in some parts of the national Capital,” he added.
