High drama in Assembly: BJP MlA marshalled out

A BJP MlA was marshalled out of Delhi Assembly after he made critical remarks against the Speaker Ram Niwas Goel during a debate on the Centre’s notification giving absolute powers to the lieutenant Governor in appointment of bureaucrats and issues relating to police and public order.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel ordered the marshals to remove OP Sharma from the House when the BJP legislator criticised him. Sharma alleged that AAP member Alka lamba has used unparliamentary language against the lieutenant Governor and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the debate. The Speaker’s action was biased, that’s why he cautioned that Speaker should not be biased and he should be neutral.

Taking strong action on Sharma’s comment, the Speaker immediately called marshals to remove Sharma from the House.  The comments made by Sharma were expunged from the records. Earlier, Sharma attacked AAP MlA Alka lamba for accusing Centre and lt Governor Najeeb Jung of trying to take away powers of the Delhi Government. The BJP members objected to Prime Minister’s name being deliberately dragged by AAP member Alka lamba.

High voltage drama was witnessed on the first day of the special session of Delhi Assembly on Tuesday with Aam Aadmi Party legislators calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “Hitler” and “lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung appointed by Reliance.”

AAP MlA Alka lamba made a direct attack on Jung saying that “he has been appointed by Reliance”. “The company also gave money to BJP during election,” AAP leader said.  But on protest of BJP Vijender Gupta, the comments made by lamba were expunged from the records.

Another AAP legislator Anil Bajpai said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a Hitler.” On This BJP legislators protested after which the Delhi speaker Ram Niwas Goel requested the members not to use such language against PM and the comments were expunged from the records.

The Delhi Speaker also criticised Jung for taking sides with MHA during the debate.  When three BJP legislators — Jagdish Pradhan, Om Prakash Sharma and Vijender Gupta —  protested, the Speaker called marshals to throw Om Prakash Sharma from the House.
