A 20-year-old maid from the North-East has allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her employer’s residence in Kirti Nagar. According to police, they found a purported suicide note near the body of Dhunita Munda, who was found hanging on Friday. However, no one has been blamed in her note.
The incident was reported on Friday at around 6 pm when Dhunita was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Munda hails from Assam. “In her suicide note, she has asked her employer to hand over her money to her brother and not to Sapna — who is apparently a friend of Dhunita’s — and police are questioning her as well,” said a police official. She was working as a domestic help there for the last six months. Her parents died a while ago and she came to Delhi with a friend. Other maids working in the area said she was apparently in love with someone and was under depression as the guy did not feel the same about her.
