A BJP delegation under the leadership of Delhi in-charge Shyam Jaju met Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against Okhla MlA Amanatullah Khan demanding legal action against him for using abusive language against the Modi Government.
A video dating back to February 16 has emerged where the AAP legislator is seen using derogatory language for allegedly wrongfully arresting Muslim cleric Maulana Mufti Abdus Sami Qasmi for anti-national activities.
During the speech, Khan was at a public meeting where he attacked the Centre and also urged the gathering to surround Rajnath Singh’s home. “If you people decide to gherao Home Minister’s house...Delhi has a huge Muslim population. If you start doing it, then I can assure you that the Government does not have that much courage to touch your children,” said Khan.
“They (police) have no proof against Mufti Sami. I was told by police that he is involved in influencing youths to join anti-national forces. An atmosphere of terror is being created. All of you have to fight against it. I will very soon ask you to come and protest for the release of Sami and you have to come,” said Khan while participating in an event of the Urdu Academy under the Delhi Government.
Condemning the video, Delhi BJP said politics of Delhi Government is surviving on a competition of using abusive language against PM Modi.
Shyam Jaju said by showing such uncivilised behaviour against the PM, the AAP has displayed its political character.
After meeting the Police Commissioner, Jaju said, “Insult to the head of the Government of a democratic country by an MlA in an official programme is tolerated only in India. This is due to the negative politics of the Opposition.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said political parties are competing against each other for becoming the champion of using derogatory language and anti-national activities. “On the one hand Arvind Kejriwal has himself been using unbecoming language and style and on the other hand his colleagues like MlA Khan insulted democracy by using derogatory words for the PM and provoking the minority community in the presence of the CM and other Ministers,” said Upadhyay.
He warned the AAP that it should take action against MlA Khan otherwise BJP will take this issue to the people by staging massive demonstration. “The silence of other political parties makes it clear to the people of the country that the Opposition has personal grudge against PM Modi and his Government,” he added.
“The most serious thing is that the MlA’s speech was delivered in the presence of the CM in an official function but Kejriwal, Minister or any Government officer did not stop the MlA,” Party National Secretary RP Singh said.
